What to expect as a beginner

If your child is showing an interest in music, lessons can start as young as five.

We know how important it is to make lessons fun as well as educational. This is why, in our piano teaching, we use a course specially designed to keep young minds engaged.

​

We start with James Bastien's "Piano for the Young Beginner" Primer Series which gives students a solid grounding in the basics.

​

Different programmes are needed for different instruments. For example, once young guitarists have learned the basics with Nuttall and Whitworth's "The Guitarist's Way" they can choose to focus on classical, acoustic, electric, bass guitar - or all of the above!

With steady practise real progress can be seen from the very first lesson - with those all important Grades being tackled within a few years.
