What to expect as a new adult learner

It's never too late to learn music - be it piano, guitar, drums or any other instrument - including your voice.

If you put your mind to it you can be playing simple versions of your favourite classics within months.

When taking up the piano as an adult, we use James Bastien's "The Older Beginner Piano Course" - a single book that can take you all the way to grade one (if that's where you want to go).

It teaches theory almost without you knowing - by adding techniques piece by piece.

 

There are other tailored programmes for older beginners in most instruments.

The great thing about being a new adult learner is that it is entirely up to you how and what you learn (not your parents!).
